WE ALL know when money talks something else walks!
Well, that’s certainly been the case with one of Darren Binskin’s beliefs this month.
Of the opinion pink is for ‘sheilas’, Binskin declared he wouldn’t take part in the breast cancer awareness campaign because “men don’t wear pink pants”.
Enter thoroughbred trainer Kim Waugh – wife of champion cricketer Mark – who pursauded Binskin to change his mind.
Mark played for Australia alongside Glenn McGrath, who co-founded the McGrath Foundation after his wife, Jane, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
The McGrath Foundation is a breast cancer support and education charity which raises money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia.
Throughout May a host of drivers are wearing pink pants to raise funds and awareness for the cause.
After hearing about Binskin’s position, Waugh pledged $1000 to the charity if the horseman would change his mind.
As such, Binskin is sporting his fluro pink slacks!
“I wasn’t goint to be a part of it as men don’t wear pink pants,” Binskin said. “But after Kim offered to donate $1000 to see me in them, I couldn’t say ‘No’.
“It is a very worthy cause which I’m happy to be a part of and hopefully together we all make a difference.”
