Arrogant pacer to continue impressive start to career

ARROGANT pacer Real Rocket will be looking to continue the impressive start to his career when he competes at Gloucester Park tomorrow night.

Making a winning debut last month, the Kristy Elson-trained youngster boasts three wins and a second from four starts.

“He has come along really well,” Elson said. “He’s not the friendliest, not nasty just arrogant, and is a bit of a pill to deal with, but you can’t complain when they race as well as he is.

“He only started racing recently, but that was just a time thing at the stable, nothing to do with him.

“He is racing well even though he doesn’t fully know what he is doing and is definitely getting better as he goes along.”

To be driven by popular reinsman Chris Voak, Real Rocket has drawn to use his gate speed from barrier four, which has seen the son of American Ideal listed as the second elect at $5.50.

Raksjameson is the $1.70 favourite from gate two.

The son of Hes Watching made a triumphant debut in Pinjarra for premier trainer Gary Hall earlier in the week.

“Like I said, I’m really happy with him and he is doing everything right, he’s young in the head,” Elson said.

“This will be a test for him but I expect him to go well.

“Raksjameson is the one to beat. He was impressive at his first run here and is bound to be better for the run.”
