PROMINENT horseman Ryan Hryhorec is hoping for a carbon copy of last week’s performance from Apologize.

Competing at Globe Derby, Apologize was a class above his older rivals which saw him register a soft 10-and-a-half metre win with Dani Hill in the cart.

Meeting a similar field at the troubled venue tonight, Apologize has drawn to upstage his aged opposition from barrier three.

“He’s going along quite well and this looks to be a winnable race,” Hryhorec said. “He’s drawn well enough and the field isn’t any stronger than what he raced against last week.

“As happy as I was with his win, I thought he went better at his previous run when he finished third.

“His work this week has been as strong as ever and he should be able to get the job done again.”

TAB Fixed Odds has the three-year-old at $1.35, with Ceebreez considered his main danger at $5.

Also a three-year-old, Ceebreez has been in consistent form with a win and two placings from her last three starts.

The filly will be driven by South Australia’s leading concession driver Samantha Pascoe.

On The Case is the only other runner under double figures at $7.

“Ceebreez has been racing nicely and the draw should help her,” Hryhorec said. “On The Case is also consistent, while Aces Daughter was going along well before being sent for a break.

“It’s a pretty even bunch on paper.”
