Interstate trip on the cards
AN INTERSTATE trip is on the cards for in-form pacer It Aint The Money.
Registering his fourth win from his last five starts when triumphant in Port Pirie last night, It Aint The Money has been earmarked for a Queensland campaign.
When that will occur has yet to be determined, with Aaron Bain waiting on border crossing restrictions to be relaxed.
“He will be part of a small team I take to Queensland later in the year,” Bain said. “When I get the opportunity to do that though is in hands of Covid at the moment.
“Whether I take them or have to send them we’ll have to wait and see, but he should benefit from the band racing up there.”
Returning from an 11-week break, It Aint The Money was rated to perfection by leading reinsman Wayne Hill.
After working to the lead from barrier three the son of Lis Mara was allowed to dawdle through the middles stages in a snail-like 65.5 seconds.
Never fully extended, It Aint The Money completed a soft three-and-a-half metre win from Shardonant, with Shesashark a nose away third in 2:02.6 over the mile.
Proving to be a shrewd purchase for the stable, It Aint The Money extended his record to four wins and two seconds from seven South Australian starts
“He came here on a low grade via the national rating system which is why we bought him,” Bain said. “He’ll keep going through classes here before we look at heading to Queensland.”
