Chance to outshine famous sibling

HE’S unlikely to reach the grand heights of his famous sibling, but Stingray Tara has the opportunity to achieve something his older brother didn’t!

Regarded as one of best pacers produced in modern times Tiger Tara reached the pinnacle of harness racing when he captured the 2018 Inter Dominion at Tabcorp Park Melton for colourful horseman Kevin Pizzuto.

A multiple Group One winner, Tiger Tara was retired to stud with a record of 37 wins and 40 placings from 112 starts for earnings of $2,375,065.

Tiger Tara is predicted to emulate his racing feats as a sire based on his early results.

As for Stingray Tara, he is engaged in tomorrow night’s Bulli Cup at Club Menangle.

Tiger Tara contested the 2017 edition of the feature, finishing seventh as fellow Inter Dominion champion, Lennytheshark, claimed the glory.

Unbeaten from three starts since joining Jason Grimson’s stable, Stingray Tara is a $2.70 TAB Fixed Odds favourite after drawing barrier eight.

The son of Bettors Delight slots into six following a pair of scratchings.

“He hasn’t set a foot wrong since he got here,” Grimson said. “He has come through last week’s win in the Renshaw Cup in great condition and will be hard to beat again.

“His draw makes it a little tough over a mile, but I can’t see it being a major problem.

“As long as he can get an even shot at them he’ll be in the finish.”
