PREMIER trainer Emma Stewart completed a clean sweep of tonight’s Tatlow Stakes at Tabcorp Park Melton.
In fact, not only did she win both Group Twos, Stewart dominated the fillies’ division.
The record-breaking horsewoman had seven representatives in the $50,000 feature, with her team filling the first six positions across the finish!
Fresh from her Home Grown Classic success at the same venue a fortnight ago, Ladies In Red maintained her undefeated status with another impressive win.
Driven by David Moran, the daughter of Mach Three was given time to settle into her stride from barrier five before being sent forward to test the leader, Platinum Sparkle, from the ‘death seat’.
Forging her way to the front turning for home, Ladies In Red dashed to a five-and-a-half metre win from the previously unbeaten Treachery.
Beach Music was a neck away third.
“There is a lot to like about this filly,” Stewart said. “She just seems to be able to do it all.
“She’s won her four starts so you can’t ask for anything more from her at this stage.”
Rating 1:55.2 over 1720 metres, Ladies In Red’s time is a tenth of a second slower than her stablemate Act Now in the colts’ and geldings’ category.
With Jodi Quinlan holding the reins, Act Now led throughout from barrier three to score by three-and-a-half metres from Vanquish Stride, with Sumomentsomewhere a head away third.
Also completing the Home Grown Classic/Tatlow Stake double, the colt stretched his record to five wins and two seconds from seven starts.
“Like Ladies In Red, there is a lot to like about him,” Stewart said. “He’s improved with each start and gives the impression he can keep getting better.
“Pretty much all of them from tonight will have a couple of easy days before getting ready for the Breeders’ Crown heats in just under two weeks.”
