IT’S no wonder New South Wales horsewoman Nikki Pagan doesn’t want to head home.

Not only is she basking in Queensland’s warm weather Pagan is enjoying a sensational rate of success in the Sunshine State.

Pagan has had 11 drives since crossing the border for eight wins and a second, with her latest victory coming with Jackbkwik at Albion Park yesterday.

“It has been a wonderful trip but sadly it is coming to an end as I am heading home on the weekend,” Pagan said.

“I’d love to stay longer but I have to get back to work.

“I work for Aquagait in the Menangle training centre and they have been great letting me have time off to come up here.

“But it will be back to work and the colder weather next week!”

Also trained by Pagan, Jackbkwik is unbeaten from three starts for the stable, with his latest success coming in effortless fashion.

With Pagan holding the reins the son of Smiling Shard led throughout from barrier two to account for Rocks Or Diamonds and The Ragnbone Man.

Proving quite nimble, Jackbkwik rated a personal best 1:54.5 over 1660 metres.

“He is the perfect little horse and I am over the moon with him,” Pagan said. “He’s got super gate speed which is always going to come in handy from a good draw.

“We’ve had our eye on him for a little while and he’s turning into a great buy.”

Unlike Pagan, Jackbkwik will remain Queensland for at least another week.

“He has also enjoyed his time here,” Pagan said. “He’ll be here for one more start at Redcliffe next week.

“He’ll stay with Rickie (Alchin) and hopefully get another win to finish off his time in Queensland.”
