FORMER top trotter My High Expectations strengthened his impressive siring record by producing a feature winner last weekend.

From limited numbers, My High Expectations has ‘fathered’ a handful of winners, including Dextrous Dexter, which proved too good at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Trained by Alanah Richardson, Dextrous Dexter secured the $51,000 Qbred Three-Year-Old Final for owner-breeder Kathryn McLachlan.

With Adam Richardson in the cart, the squaregaiter rated 2:02.6 over 2138 metres to register his fourth consecutive victory.

A pair of My High Expectations’ two-year-olds – Northern Heights and Gait With Grace – also filled the placings in the two-year-old division.

Earlier this month Gait With Grace and Northern Heights, which are also owned by McLachlan, completed a quinella at the same venue.

Although an American-bred stallion, My High Expectations ironically made his racing debut at Albion Park on April 12, 2010, where he finished second.

Sent south to New South Wales the following week, My High Expectations won eight of his next 11 starts to complete a quick transition through the grades.

The son of Ken Warkentin was successful at Group Two and Three level before capturing the 2014 Group One Australasian Trotting Championship in Melton.

Continuing to compete at the highest level, My High Expectations was retired with 34 wins and 28 placings from 107 starts for earnings of $482,505.

My High Expectations is available via prominent New South Wales-based stud Medowie Lodge.
