Inter surprise package “just getting started”
A SURPRISE package during the opening round of Inter Dominion heats, Illawong Stardust is “just getting started” according to trainer Tony Peacock.
Second-up from a five-month spell, Illawong Stardust finished third in her Club Menangle-based qualifier on Saturday night.
Thrilled with the trotter’s performance, Peacock stated Illawong Stardust is destined to improve from the outing.
“She’s had an interrupted build up to the Inter, so to go as well as she did was very pleasing,” Peacock said.
“She is just getting started and that run will do her the world of good.
“As always, there will be quite a few tired horses by the end of the third night, but she’ll be just hitting her peak at the right time.”
Although the daughter of Muscle Hill has drawn awkwardly in barrier six for Wednesday night’s second round in Bathurst, Peacock remains confident of a “forward showing”.
“It’s not the best draw, but not the worst either,” Peacock said. “She comes out quick, so is capable of going forward and finding a good spot early.
“No matter where she lands I expect a forward showing from her and for her to be better again in the third round.”
