A TRIP across the border is on the cards for talented filly Moonshine Linda.
Maintaining her perfect record for the season with a win against older company last night, Moonshine Linda has been aimed at the New South Wales Trotters’ Oaks by trainer Neville Pangrazio.
The Blue Riband is due to be held at Tabcorp Park Menangle on May 5.
Having sent the daughter of Majestic Son to the paddock for a week while he also enjoys a break with his family, Pangrazio plans to race Moonshine Linda at Shepparton as a lead into the Group One.
“We’ll all have a week off now before getting ready for Sydney,” Pangrazio said. “I’m on the road to Gundagai, but you don’t want to hear me sing it!
“There is a suitable lead-up race in Shepparton the week before the Oaks, so I’ll put her in that, then head to Sydney.”
Driven by Gavin Lang during her latest victory, Moonshine Linda worked to the lead from barrier two before scoring by a metre-and-a-half from Fear Not, with Pretty Little Lucy three metres away third.
In her third start for the term, the three-year-old rated 2:00.4 over 2150 metres, taking her record to four wins and two placings from nine starts for earnings of $56,900.
“She went very well,” Pangrazio said. “She is travelling great and I’m quite happy with her.
“This time in she has come back in good shape. I always felt she was raw as a two-year-old and what she did was just on natural ability.
“She took a while to come to hand when we started out with her and I always felt she’d be a three-year-old and beyond like her mother.”
