Maiden win ticked off bucket list

YOUNG reinsman Sebsatian Piltz crossed an item off his ‘bucket list’ last night.

After several attempts, and a handful of close calls, Piltz broke his metropolitan maiden at Club Menangle thanks to Quiet Storm.

Rapt to have achieved the goal, Piltz stated the victory was as much as a relief as it was a celebration.

“It is something I can finally tick off my bucket list,” Piltz said. “I’ve had a fair few shots at it and run a few placings, but just couldn’t get that win.

“I’m very happy to get a win at Menangle on a Saturday night and also relieved it is out of the way.”

Eased away from barrier 10, Quiet Storm was settled at the tail of the field as Faze Of Glory, Lou Will and Titian Raider took turns working to the lead.

Last at the top of the home straight, the son of Rock N Roll Heaven unleashed a scintillating sprint to score by four-and-a-half metres from Bartello, with Jaxon Beach a head away third.

Trained by Jarrod Alchin, Quiet Storm rated 1:53.9 for the 2300-metre trip, taking his record to 10 wins and 15 placings from 59 starts for earnings of $109,807.

“I’ve been working for Jarrod for a little over two years and I’m glad to finally get a win for him,” Piltz said. “I really enjoy working for Jarrod and thank him for this and every other opportunity.”
