HANDY mare Crisp Mane powered to the lead near the quarter and rolled to a facile victory in yesterday’s feature at The Meadows.
The 2-5 favourite, Crisp Mane had been competing successfully in Open Handicap events at MGM Northfield, and the class relief was evident.
The five-year-old daughter of Sportswriter and Designated Leader jogged for Ronnie Wrenn junior in 1:52.1, scoring by three lengths from All Day Sunshine.
Something Reel was a similar distance away third.
Ron Burke trains Crisp Mane, which lifted her bankroll to $257,860, for Sylvia Burke.
Mike Wilder piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
