Outstanding filly to bounce back to winners’ circle

OUTSTANDING filly Amazing Dream is expected to have little trouble returning to the winners’ circle at Albion Park on Saturday night.

Making her Australian debut last week, the boom youngster finished second – beaten a half-neck – against open age and sex rivals.

Pleased with the three-year-old’s recovery, trainer Darren Weeks is positive Amazing Dream can add to her incredible record.

The daughter of Bettors Delight joined Weeks’ stable after being transferred from New Zealand’s power couple Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen.

Amazing Dream’s last two starts before leaving the Shaky Isles netted a pair of Group Ones – for a total of five majors.

Owned by Victorian horsewoman Jean Feiss, Amazing Dream boasts 11 wins and eight placings from 19 starts for earnings of $627,310.

“She has pulled up great…come through it perfectly,” Weeks said. “I thought she went super.

“Her run was great it was just that her condition gave out at the end.

“She’s trained on well and will be better for the run.”

With Kylie Rasmussen to take the reins, Amazing Dream will once again compete against older rivals.

This time, however, the opposition is restricted to fillies and mares.

Amazing Dream has drawn barrier seven, with her stablemate and main danger Smart As Camm Be to come from the outside of the second row.

“It’s not going to be an easy race but she should be too classy,” Weeks said. “I think she will have too much speed for them.

“Smart As Camm Be and Madamoiselle Jujon are the two biggest threats despite being off the back.”
