Plenty of APG stars on display

FRESH from another Group One success last weekend, a host of Australian Pacing Gold ‘family’ will work towards top shelf glory at Club Menangle tomorrow night.

Just to recap, APG graduate Max Delight upstaged a stellar field to capture the Victoria Cup in Bendigo.

The Grand Circuit event was Max Delight’s third Group One triumph!

As for the pending assault, 16 of APG’s star two-year-olds will do battle in New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge semi-finals.

Short-priced favourite in their qualifiers, Smaltese and My Ultimate Byron have drawn to continue their winning form from the pole.

A recent trial winner in 1:50.2, Smaltese captured the APG Gold Sovereign in August.

Victorious in the Group One APG Gold Bullion, My Ultimate Byron is undefeated from six starts.

In the fillies’ division, Captains Queen is a $1.50 favourite as she searches for her seventh win from eight starts!

It’s a similar scenario in the second semi, with Madrid at $1.45 despite drawing wide in barrier eight.

APG wishes the connections of all semi-finalists the best of luck.
