Ready to rectify family problem
HANDY filly Our Little Jet will take a step towards rectifying a family problem when she heads to Kilmore on Wednesday night.
Having her second run from a spell when third in Bendigo last week, Our Little Jet is engaged in an Australian Pacing Gold Sovereign heat in Kilmore.
From grand producer Kabbalah Karen B, the three-year-old is a half-sister to multiple Group One winners Our Little General and Ladies In Red.
Among the best of their crop, Our Little General and Ladies In Red dominated the APG qualifiers but fell short in the Finals.
In fact, it was only in May when Ladies In Red finished second behind her stablemate, Tough Tilly, in the Club Menangle-based APG decider.
Making his APG Final appearance in 2016, Our Little General finished sixth behind his stablemate, The Storm Inside.
Like her siblings, Our Little Jet is prepared by premier horsewoman Emma Stewart, who also has Larvotto Beach in the heat.
While Larvotto Beach has drawn perfectly in the pole, Our Little Jet will begin from barrier six.
Despite being the widest drawn runner, Our Little Jet is a $1.40 favourite.
“She’s had two runs from a spell for a first-up second and a third, so I’ve been happy with her efforts,” Stewart said.
“Her work has improved since her last start and she will strip fitter for the APG heat.
“The draw isn’t the best, but not an issue either given the small field.
“She still has to get out there and get the job done, but she is the one to beat.”
The APG Sovereign Final is scheduled to be conducted at Tabcorp Park Melton on August 20.
