Superstar moving to new barn
SUCCESSFUL sire Auckland Reactor is moving to a new breeding barn.
Having completed a deal with the stallion’s former owners, veteran horseman Tony Peacock will stand the millionaire at his Moama property.
Australia’s leading first season sire in 2016/17, Auckland Reactor has produced six Group One winners from his first two crops.
Auckland Reactor’s son – Reactor Now – stretched his winning sequence to six with another effortless victory in Shepparton last night.
Trained by David Aiken and driven by his son Josh, Reactor Now led throughout to score by 11 metres in 2:00.1 over 2190 metres.
The Australian Pacing Gold purchase is being aimed at the Vicbred Super Series later in the season.
As for Auckland Reactor, he arrived at Peacock’s stable this afternoon.
“He is a magnificent individual and I am thrilled to be standing him in New South Wales in the upcoming breeding season,” Peacock said.
“He’s got the writing on the board as a racehorse and a sire and is a welcome addition to the state where he is eligible for the colonial stallion rebate and other bonuses.
“His fee will be $3000 including GST.”
Triumphant at his first 17 starts, Auckland Reactor won 24 of his first 27 outings to become the quickest New Zealand standardbred to earn $1million.
The son of Mach Three was retired with a record of 32 wins and four placings from 53 starts for a bankroll of $1,837,043.
“He was a star on the track and is passing those qualities on to his foals,” Peacock said.
