A PAIR of talented youngsters will aim to continue their winning streak at Tabcorp Park Melton tonight.
Successful at his last three starts, Platinum Stride has drawn to lead throughout from the pole for trainer Shane Sanderson.
The son of Captaintreacherous won his last two outings for previous trainers Anthony Butt and Sonya Smith before making a triumphant debut for Sanderson in Cranbourne on August 1.
Given a freshen-up following his victory, Platinum Stride is in “top order” according to Sanderson.
“I couldn’t be happier with him,” Sanderson said. “He did well during his break and has come up a treat.
“Obviously he will be better for the run, but he is in top order and is forward enough to win.”
Platinum Stride will be driven by popular concession reinsman Brad Chisholm, who was successful behind the three-year-old in July.
“Brad knows the horse and should be able to get the best out of him,” Sanderson said.
Citing next month’s Victoria Derby as Platinum Stride’s main focus this preparation, Sanderson has also listed the Australasian Breeders’ Crown as a target for the gelding.
“I don’t know whether he is up to the better ones, but I’ll put him in a Derby heat and see how he goes,” Sanderson said.
“He’s also got the Breeders’ Crown after that, then he’ll have a good long spell.”
