Better than a trip to Disneyland

WHEN it comes to a family fun day, Club Menangle is better than Disneyland according to trainer Simon Bigeni junior.

Making the trip to Australia’s premier track with his three sons yesterday, Bigeni and his boys all returned home with ‘teddy bear’ in what was a stellar day for the family!

Not only did Bigeni train a pair of winners, Jake, Klayton and Mason were successful in the sulky.

“It was a perfect day out, better than going to Disneyland,” Bigeni said. “It’s always great when any of us get a win, but for all of us to win on the same day is amazing.

“It’s the first time this has happened and is something I will never forget.

“Mason works close to Menangle, so he didn’t come home with us, but when he does come home on the weekend, we’ll have a pretty good celebration.”

Bigeni and Jake were the first to enjoy the sweet taste of success by combining to score with Tooram Cee Cee.

Gaining a three-wide trail during the latter stages, Tooram Cee Cee dashed to a metre-and-a-half victory from You Are My Wish, with Shoreline Dream a half-neck away third in 1:52.9 over a mile.

Bigeni notched a running double when Klayton guided Madazalways to a 1:55 win as Birdy Gal and Racing Writer filled the placings.

Mason completed proceedings with a faultless drive behind the Chris Judd-trained Baltusrol.

After settling the son of Shoobees Place in the coveted one-one, Mason timed his run to perfection as the $41 outsider covered the 1609-metre trip in 1:50.5.

“I had Jake driving my horse D J Rock in the race, so I was focused on him, then all of a sudden Klayton starts yelling for Mason,” Bigeni said. “I turned my attention to Mason and was just hoping he’d get home.

“Once he crossed the line we were stoked…it made for an amazing day.”
