Domination across two states

PREMIERSHIP leading trainer Craig Cross dominated meetings across two states last night.

Along with a treble close to home, Cross registered a quartet in Queensland to wrap up a big week for his stable.

Cross’ four wins at Albion Park included two of the program’s features, while he also prepared Little Rascal to win the Group Three at Club Menangle as part of his treble.

“We’ve had a good week,” Cross said. “The boys are doing a great job with the team that’s been sent up to Queensland and those at home are also in good shape.”

Roll One Over kick-started Cross’ onslaught by taking out the opening event in the Sunshine State.

Driven by Leonard Cain, the son of Rocknroll Hanover worked in the ‘death seat’ before scoring by a head from the pacemaker, Tommy Under Fire.

Rockn Brushgrove was four metres away third in 1:53.8 over 1660 metres.

“Roll One Over has enjoyed his time in Queensland,” Cross said. “That was his third start there for a couple of wins and third.”

Roll One Over was then joined in the winners’ circle by his stablemates Cruz, Culture King and Galleons Victory, with each driven by Cain.

Cain also drove Cruz, Culture King and Roll One Over to win the previous Saturday night.

“They’ll all stay in Queensland for another week or two,” Cross said. “Once they come home a few others will be sent up instead.”

As for his local wins, Cross combined with Luke McCarthy to emerge triumphant with Vandanta and Living Again.

David Morris partnered Little Rascal which caused an upset at $34 on the Tote by rating 1:55.4 over 2300 metres to account for Lexus With A View and Alta Orlando.

“He’s been racing solidly and it was only a matter of time before he got another win on the board,” Cross said.

“Everything went his way and he was able to come out on top.”
