Interstate trip on the cards

DISPLAYING a glimpse of his best has tentatively booked Cash N Flow an interstate trip.

Practically unbeatable at Club Menangle in 2020, Cash N Flow won 13 consecutive races around the spacious 1400-metre circuit.

Mixing his form during the past 16 months, with six wins from 19 starts, the son of Mach Three produced an impressive performance to capture last night’s Bulli Cup.

Pleased with the effort, trainer Belinda McCarthy stated Cash N Flow is being considered for a trip north for Queensland’s Winter Carnival.

“I was very happy with that run,” McCarthy said. “He has mixed his form a little lately, with unplaced runs in between wins, but he trialled well before last night and his work suggested he was ready to go.

“He’s gone 1:50.1, which is the same time he went a couple of months ago, and those two wins are the quickest he’s gone in more than a year.

“If he can keep this form going we will certainly look at taking him to Queensland over the winter.”

With Jack Callaghan in the cart, Cash N Flow showed his customary gate speed to find the lead from barrier seven.

Allowed to roll along at a steady tempo, the gelding scored by three-and-a-half metres from The Mustang, with Stingray Tara three-and-a-half metres away third.

“Once he got to the front he did it as easily as he liked and Jack said he has plenty left on the line,” McCarthy said.

“He’ll keep going around in the free-for-alls here for now and we’ll see how he is when it’s time to make a firm decision on Queensland.”
