Latest stable acquisitions ready to hit winning form

AFTER a couple of runs from a spell, Paul Cavallaro’s latest stable acquisitions are ready to hit winning form.

Recently purchased from the New South Wales barn of Belinda McCarthy, Wrangler, Cullenburn and Little Rascal have had two starts for the South Australian horseman.

The trio are engaged at Globe Derby tonight, with Cavallaro confident either of them are capable of taking out the open class event.

Third on each occasion, Wrangler is considered the ‘most likely’ from barrier three.

“He would be my pick of them at this stage,” Cavallaro said. “Belinda felt Cullenburn would head them, but Wrangler seems to have settled in better.”

Runner-up at the same venue last week, Cullenburn will begin from gate five, with Little Rascal splitting his stablemates in barrier four.

Little Rascal has finished midfield since his interstate move.

In an open betting market, Wrangler is the $2 favourite with TAB Fixed Odds, with Cullenburn on the fourth line of betting at $10.

Little Rascal is the outsider at $51.

“I do think Wrangler is the one to beat, but I wouldn’t be surprise who wins,” Cavallaro said. “That includes the other horses in the race, not just my three!

“It’s pretty event on paper, so we’ll just have to see how the race is run.”
