Lucky to be alive after sickening fall

SHE’S only petite, but is certainly as tough as nails.

Preparing to drive in the opening race at Tabcorp Park Melton last night, Kima Frenning was involved in a “sickening” fall.

Crashing to the ground near the point of release, Frenning was then “dragged about two metres under the other horse”.

Taken to the Alfred hospital with a suspected concussion, Frenning has suffered a possible broken wrist according to Colleen Aiken.

Frenning works for the Aiken stable.

“She is a very lucky girl,” Aiken said. “I’ve watched the replay in slow motion and it is sickening.

“To come out of it with just a broken wrist, or wrist injury as they’ve told us, and a concussion is a miracle.

“She is lucky to be alive after being dragged about two metres under the other horse.”

Reported to be in high spirits this morning, Frenning is expected to be released from hospital later in the day.

Last July Frenning was hospitalized with internal bleeding as a result of a fall in Echuca.

Four days later she was driving at Tabcorp Park Melton!

“She messaged earlier saying she should be out of the hospital and home tonight,” Aiken said.
