Betting markets predicting night of dominance

FRESH from dominating last week’s Breeders’ Crown heats, power couple Emma Stewart and Clayton Tonkin are expected to repeat the dose in Saturday night’s semi-finals.

With a stable bursting with quality youngsters, Stewart and Tonkin won six of the seven two-year-old qualifiers in Ballarat.

The duo then captured three of the six three-year-old heats in which they had a runner.

“The heats produced some amazing results for the team and we are especially happy for our owners,” Stewart said.

“These are the kind of races every owner wants to be a part of so it is always great when you can deliver that.

“Hopefully we will have a bit of luck in the semis in Melton on Saturday.”

TAB Fixed Odds are predicting the Stewart/Tonkin squad will dictate the semis.

With runners in seven of the eight races, the pair will gear-up six favourites!

As for the ‘seventh’ semi, Stewart and Tonkin have the $2.90 second elect Maajida.

In two events Stewart and Tonkin will be represented by the only three starters under double figure odds.

Winner of the Group One The Allwood earlier in the season, Treachery is at $1.90 in the first semi for two-year-old fillies.

Drawn barrier three but set to slot into two with the removal of the emergency, Treachery’s main dangers are her stablemates Ladies In Red and Joanna.

Despite boasting a perfect record from five outings, Ladies In Red is paying $2.30 from gate seven, with Joanna at $5 barrier nine.

In the second semi for two-year-old colts and geldings, Jacks Hawk is at $2 from the pole, with his stablemates Act Now and Idyllic on $3.10 add $7.
